Dear Parents,
After this first full week back at school, we wanted to send you a list of important dates for your diary:
Meet the Friends Wine & Canapés Evening September 21st 7-9pm
An evening for new parents with wine and canapes where you can connect with us and see how to get more involved. You will also hear about our plans for this school year, including updates on the educational programmes we plan to fund, our preparations for the upcoming Halloween celebrations, and our big Winter Fayre. We also hope to hear from you and exchange ideas about what else the Friends and our parents community can do!
Class Reps’ Evening October 4th 7-9pm
All new class reps can meet the Friends Steering Group and the school’s Senior Leadership Team on October 4th. It will ensure all the essential information is provided and you will be able to share any feedback or get answers to questions that might have come up within your class.
Halloween spooky Festival Bake Sale and Party
On October 20th, the last day before half-term, we will organise a spooky Halloween Party for all Prep students with a DJ and also offer a spooky cake sale for the whole school.
How to get more involved
If you'd like to help us throughout this school year, here are a couple of events and ideas we have planned for the next couple of weeks:
Class Rep Nominations
Please consider volunteering if your child's class still needs to find a representative. Class representatives are essential for effective communication between the school, parents, and students. They liaise between the Friends of the School and the parents of their class to share key information and help organise volunteers for social and educational programmes.
Teacher Appreciation Breakfast September 29th
If you’d like to contribute something scrummy for our Teacher appreciation breakfast, please let us or just drop after drop off and help us say thank you to the wonderful teachers this term.
Book sale
We plan to hold another book sale, this time for all Prep (Y1-Y6), to coincide with the launch of the new library on October 10th. That day will also be Mental Health Day / Hello Yellow Day. If you want to donate some books, please hand them to your form tutor, and one of the Friends will store them safely in our shed until the sale.
New WhatsApp Group
If you'd like to be more involved in the Friends activities, we are starting a new Friends of HCH Group; please submit your details here: https://forms.gle/bcG2PDKf5gB9VGwm8
Please watch this space as we will soon be able to provide you with an online second hand PE kit shop!
If you'd like to get more info, you can directly connect with us either via our homepage Friends of Hampton Court House or simply email us friends@hchnet.co.uk
